Frequently Asked Questions
Service monitors are Metrist’s suite of functional tests of a specific product or capability from a cloud vendor. For example, with AWS Metrist has one service monitor for EC2 and another for S3. Service monitors are defined by Metrist at their own discretion
Synthetic monitoring refers to the independent scripts (tests) that Metrist uses to evaluate a cloud product’s functionality. Metrist’s tests are continuously exercising the functionality of a cloud product and evaluating the results of those scripted tests to determine product health..
Shared synthetic monitoring offers all Metrist customers access to universal performance and availability using Metrist account credentials. Private synthetic uses the customer’s specific cloud account credentials.
In-app monitoring uses scripts to evaluate performance and availability from the inside of an application, rather than from the outside as is done with synthetic monitoring.
Yes, please contact us at support@metirst.io with the number of services you’d like to monitor and we will provide you with a custom quote.
AWS ECS, AWS EKS, AWS ELB, AWS RDS, AWS Cognito, AWS Kinesis, Azure Active Directory, Azure AKS, Azure App Service, Azure Cosmos DB, GCP App Engine, GCP GKE, Snowflake, and Twilio Video. This list will grow as Metrist adds more service monitors.
